The Island Of Barbados
The Atlantic Ocean is the place where the Lesser Antilles is located in which the tropical island of Barbados is located. Tourism is Barbados’ main income as it’s one of the better-developed areas.
As Barbados is located in the Atlantic Ocean it is being protected by hurricanes and bad tropical storms .The last time a hurricane hit the island was in 1955. Barbados’ climate is moderate and wet in between June and November, very tropical and dry in between the month of December and May. The total rainfall in Barbados averages between 40 to 90 inches per annum. Most parts of the Barbados are surrounded by coral reefs.
Barbados has lots of hotels, timeshares and private villas. Tourist and surfers will enjoy their day in Barbados with its beautiful Caribbean Sea with white beaches making the south and west coast areas very popular. Lovely wildlife reserves, cave exploring expeditions, festivals, and many shopping areas can be found in this small and beautiful island. Tourism is the main economic income. African origin people constitute 90 percent of Barbados’ population.
One of the biggest events that take place yearly is the Crop over festival, which is a carnival type event. The festivities include competitions for music and other special events. There is a King and Queen crowned for the ones that harvest the most sugar cane during the year.
Due to its romantic nature of sandy beaches, blue waters, tropical sunsets and sunny days, Barbados has become the honeymoon destination for many couples. The early evenings provide a refreshing cool walk along its vegetated coastline.
Barbados has thrilling attractions like yacht trips, surfing and swimming with the sea turtles for couples touring on honeymoon. They can also hire car services or honeymoon packages for sight seeing of old plantation homes, sugar mills and a lot of gardens, which contain lovely orchids.
