Escape The Chill Of Winter With Majorca Hotels

When people think of Majorca one thing comes to mind; great holidays, and the Island is open for business all year round for summer fun and winter sun alike. Visit in summer and you’ll find many areas crowded and buzzing, whereas if you visit them in the winter, they’ll be quiet and laid back. The main areas of culture and activity are Alcudia, Magaluf and Palma, all of which have great authentic Majorca hotels and things to do and see.

Palma is a great way to spend a sunny winter day whilst in Majorca. There are a number of restaurants where holidaymakers can sample traditional, or a variety of cuisines. Take a walk through the beautiful city before sitting down to dinner, that way you’ll discover hidden squares, galleries and museums. The Cathedral is a must see for holidaymakers and the dramatic gothic architecture looks spectacular during the day or night.

Don’t put your bikinis and shorts away just yet, leave behind chilly Britain and head to Majorca. Temperatures on the Island routinely hit 14c and a little above in January, meaning Majorca hotels do still have a good number of bookings from Holidaymakers fleeing the snow covered city streets of northern Europe. While most of Europe is sending out grit by the truck load the lucky inhabitants and holidaymakers visiting Majorca can enjoy the golden sandy beaches and the clear blue skies whilst relaxing in the quiet resorts. The day time promises warmth and vitamin D, however the evenings can be a bit chilly so make sure you have a jumper packed.

The capital is not the only place to enjoy yourself, there’s much to do outside the city. Many tourists head to the old town and new town of Alcudia as a starting point. Enjoy the mountainous scenery surrounding Alcudia. While the New Town is very touristy the old town has some wonderful traditional architecture and good flea markets to pick up some bargains. The Majorca hotels in the old Roman capital put visitors within easy reach of excursions on the Northern coast.
