Pots and Pans, A Tent Camping Necessity

Whether you are novice in the camping arena or an old experience camper you have probably driven off without enough pots and pans to cook a decent meal at one time or another. Or perhaps felt the wrath of your significant other for bringing back his or her favorite frying pan dirty and with the handle half melted from getting it too close to the fire. In such a case I think I would rather eat a cold can of beans in camp instead of having boiled chicken for six weeks until I finally give in and go buy her a new skillet.

There is a way around both of these situations and it is not nearly as expensive as you may think. There are several companies out there, Chinook and Open Country to name just a couple, that make entire sets of pots and pans expressly for camping. What makes these pots and pans different from what you have in the cupboard at home are a few subtle nuances in the way they are made.

These sets are made of a very light weight, burn resistant material so that they can even be put in an open campfire. Some of the other features that set this camping cookware apart are the non-stick surfaces that are coated both inside and out, making cleaning a virtual walk in the park. But probably the best feature most of this camping cookware has is the fact that they easily nest together for packing them away. Instead of having six or seven pans bouncing around in the back of your truck, they all fit together in one pot and some have a nylon bag to put them in for packing away when you are done. The heat resistant aluminum handles are also a great extra as well so your hands do not get burnt when taking the pots off of your camp stove or campfire and you will not have to remember to pack a pair of oven mitts.

So as you can probably gather from only some of the features listed, there are a number of advantages to getting a camping cookware set exclusively for your camping equipment. This way not only can your family eat like kings while they are out enjoying the great outdoors, you will not have to worry about getting them unpacked as soon as you get home in order to keep peace in the family. If these reasons are not enough to be convinced, the fact that it can be done for less than a hundred bucks should make buying a cookware set a virtual no thought reaction!
