Las Vegas – Now Friendly For Kids

I was introduced to Las Vegas at a very young age. My uncle worked for a travel company and we would get amazing deals to go down there. So, my family, along with my cousins, uncles, and aunts, always planned family vacations down there. Maybe once a year, we’d all go down. Some of fondest memories, as a kid, originates from those vacations. And with the reinvention of "Sin City" to a more kind friendly city, you can create these memories for your kids as well. There are many things for a kid to see and do, including multiple attractions and shows, midways and arcades, and of course, roller-coasters and rides.

With internet, TV, and video games, the attention span of your average kid isn’t going to be very much, however, some of the Las Vegas attractions are bound to help solve this problem. Kids love animals, and what better to distract them then the Lions at MGM Grand, Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo, or the Aquarium at the Mirage.

If they’re still not paying attention, then bring them to the Volcano at the Mirage, or sit them down in for free circus performances at Circus Circus. If the sight of spewing lava and flames, or juggling clowns don’t redirect their attention, nothing else will.

Along with the attractions, arcades and midways are plentiful. From the 55,000 square foot Gameworks, which offers the latest technologies in games and attractions, to the midways of Circus Circus, Excalibur, and New York New York, there’s absolutely no reason for any kids to be bored. The first time I went to Circus Circus, me and my cousins managed to find a rigged machine in one of the midway games. It was the one where you play a pinball, and depending on where it lands, it moves an electronic horse. Anyways, we won about 90% of the games for an hour until we got kicked off and the staff put the machine as "out of order". In retrospect, we should have let someone else win, but we were kids, and we were having fun. We took home 2 giant garbage bags of plush toys. This was one of my most cherished childhood memories, and your kids will gain their own.

If your kid’s are a little older, or are into more exciting things, there’s the Adventuredome, as well as numerous rides available. With over 25 rides and new ones being implemented yearly, the Adventuredome at Circus Circus will fulfill all their needs. There are several other rides around the Las Vegas strip as well, including the 203 foot high Roller Coaster at New York New York, the Stratosphere Thrill Rides, which include XScream, a giant seesaw that teeters over the edge on the top of the the hotel’s tower, and much much more.

So plan your trip with your kids now, and as a special bonus, here’s the lowest prices for hotels in Las Vegas:
