I Am Grateful For Family Camping Experiences
I am grateful for the opportunities given to me by my parents to experience the great outdoors. If it were not for my mother sending us siblings off to YWCA or YMCA camps I probably would not have had an interest in camping at all. Likewise, if it were not for my father taking us on a camping trip around Lake Superior as kids I may not continue to enjoy my new adventures. As noted, it is these exciting activities that keep us coming back.
1. First, I am grateful for Family camping every summer with my brother and sisters children. Our camping adventure takes us to Cross Lake Minnesota at the Core of Engineer Campground. As a result, we spend time together with family members that like to cook wonderful meals, laugh around a campfire, and share the days activities on the lake.
2. Secondly, I am grateful for the skills learned at the YWCA camps that taught me how to cook on open fires and hike and canoe in the wilderness. Of course, now days open fires are not widely used in wilderness areas due to fire dangers but more of portable camp stoves instead. Consequently, these acquired skills help with any camping journey taken.
3. Thirdly, I am grateful for the fantastic Boundary Water Canoe Area trips taken with my brother and my niece and nephew. For this reason, I like sharing outdoor adventures in star gazing, paddling the canoe, setting up camp or spotting wildlife together.
4. Lastly, I am grateful for the chance to travel to marvelous locations in the United States or internationally to see such splendor. What magnificent opportunities to spend with family and friends the beauty that nature holds. By the same token, we need to appreciate the importance of leaving no trace and to preserve for others to have the benefit of in the future.
Finally, if not for the influence of my parents and the continued interest of my siblings love for outdoor camping it would be nonexistent. It is an excellent pass time to share with family and friends and these four reasons keep me coming back for more. What are you grateful for when it comes to camping? I challenge you to add to my list.
